HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition
While some might argue about paying the extra premium for a machine that, apart from the aesthetics part of it, is similar in specifications to the run-of-the mill HP Mini 1000, for me, the personalisation and style provided by the designer's touch makes it worth it. This isn't any run-of-the mill black/bland/boring notebook, this is my sexy machine and sizzlingly so.
But like me, this machine is not just about looks. Bearing in mind that this is a sub-notebook (or netbook), and hence not designed to perform as good as its normal-sized counterparts, in actual usage it performs commendably, with the energy efficient Intel AtomTM processor and 1GB DDR2 RAM making your daily work, well, still a boring chore but at least you will look pretty good while doing it! Seriously though, the HP Vivienne Tam Edition will perform to expectation. It's 60 Gigabytes HDD lets you bring both work (documents, spreadsheets etc) and play (mp3s, movies etc) anywhere. And weighing just under 1.2kg and being a mere 1 inch thin means it won't slow you down or worse, tire you out. Listed below are the important specifications, if the gorgeous design still hasn't made your mind up already:
- Intel® AtomTMProcessor (1.60GHz)
- 10.1" Widescreen Display (1024 x 576)
- 1GB DDR2 System Memory
- 60GB 4200RPM PATA Hard Drive
- HP Mini Webcam
- Wireless-G Card with Bluetooth®
- Dimensions: 6.56" (W) x 10.3" (L) x 0.99" (H)
- Weight: 1.1kg (Weight varies by configuration)
As performances go, for the same price you can of course buy better-specced laptops. But if you are looking to be competently productive and still be fashionable, I'd definitely recommend the HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition, anytime.
