How to apply that perfect makeup? We show you the 6 major rules.
How to apply makeup
Rule #1: Never wear too much makeup! Makeup is there to enhance your positive features and not to draw unwanted attention to you. You need to avoid putting on too thick eyeliner as this would make you look overdone and basically just ruin your whole effort. You should also avoid using too much mascara; it will flake and look unnatural. It is important that your foundation blends well with your skin color. Foundation is meant to protect and give your face a smooth look, so void having obvious lines or shadowes due to uneven blend of your powder.

Rule #2: Your lipstick will definitely stay much longer if you first apply a lip liner to completely cover the lips and only then add color, rather than the other way round. Ensure that your lip liner blends well with either the lipstick color or the color of your skin tone. You can make your lips look smaller by staying inside the outline of your lips. Alternatively, if you decide to give your lips a larger look try going outside the natural outline of your lips.

Rule #3: Choose your makeup carefully so it is appropriate for the occasion. In general, when you are out in the daylight, like if you are going to the beach, your makeup should be a light. When you are out for the evening, like when you're going dancing, it should be heavier.

Rule #4: Once your makeup is completed it should look natural. In order to achieve this you need to avoid colors that clash. For example, if you have dark skin and hair you will look better in darker shades, light colors will make you look washed out. If your hair and skin tone are light, light colors will be better to you. Whichever the case, always keep your makeup looking fresh and vibrant, and retouch when needed.
As a special consideration, in case you have oily skin it is better to use oil control moisturizer and foundation. Wear lose powder and retouch if necessary.

Rule #5: Take your time when putting on makeup; it takes a lot of calculation. If you are experimenting with a new look start with the light colors first and add one product at a time. For example, you may want to start with foundation, and then add mascara, then blush on and lipstick.

Rule #6: Your hair color needs to be in harmony with your skin tone. In case you have a dark complexion try and keep your hair color in a similar shade to you makeup. In contrast, if you have light colored hair use light colors in your makeup as well. As you age you should lighten up your makeup, you look better and more natural.
