Remedy for Dry Skin

If you have dry skin your skin is usually a bit flaky and lackluster looking, especially around your eyes and cheeks. Those are areas that need to be moisturized particularly well. Avoid soap as it will dry your skin even more and instead cleanse your face with milk and oatmeal instead. The milk moisturizes and nourishes the skin while the oatmeal acts as an exfoliate agent.

To prepare your own powerful cleansing moisturizer simply mix ten ground almonds, two spoons of oatmeal, four tablespoons of full cream milk, two spoons of china clay, the juice of half a lemon and one mashed avocado. Apply a generous amount of this mixture on your face and leave it on for twenty minutes. Wipe it off with some cotton wool dampened with cold milk. Then splash your face with cold water and apply a light commercial moisturizer.

Remedy for Oily Skin

The reason for oily skin are very active sebaceous glands which secrete more oil, thus leaving the skin greasy and dull. Oily skin attracts a lot of dirt that clogs the pores. You will need to do a thorough cleansing routine to remove all the surface grime and to unclog the pores.

This recipe helps you to prepare a pack that rejuvenates, tightens and exfoliates your skin: mash six strawberries with a teaspoon of Brandy, two spoons of fuller's earth, two spoons of breadcrumbs, and a few drops of rose water. Mix all this well into a paste, apply a thick layer of it on the face and neck and leave it for twenty minutes.

The strawberries contain Vitamin C and certain acidic properties that work well to leave the skin sparkling clean. The breadcrumbs help to exfoliate dead skin while fuller's earth will tighten the pores. The brandy will help to add some glow.

Remedy for Combination Skin

This skin type is a mixture of the two types above. Often the nose and forehead tend to be oily while the eyes and cheeks are dry. You first need to cleanse the center zone with an astringent while dab the rest of the face with cold milk. Prepare a pack by mixing half a cup of powered, dry peas mixed with three spoons of curd, the juice of one lemon and half a cup of papaya pulp. Apply it and leave it for twenty minutes, then rinse it off with cold water. In addition you can apply an ice cube dipped in rose water to tighten the pores over the T-Zone.

We hope these remedies will help you look better. If you have additional household beauty recipes please share them with us.
